It's all too often that men are left confused at the end of a date or at the end of a series of dates. It is a definite mystery when we think things are going well then they end abruptly. This is probably because we've committed a dating mistake that we didn't realize. While some women may give us second chances, it's always better to nip a problem at the bud. Here are more dating mistakes men need to know about.
1. Over Grooming While being clean and neat in appearance is a great thing for a date, overdoing it can be suicide. There are times that men put on too much cologne or gel in their hair, and they just end up looking sleazy and smelling funny. Keep things in moderation.
2. Pushing too Far Ahead Just like men, women can get intimidated or turned off by someone who discusses what future you two will share. Talking about how you want your relationship to go on your first few dates is a no no. Some things just have to develop naturally through time.
3. Know Your Options Keep yourself open to other people for a while. Turning a woman you've dated once or twice into "the one" may be okay for some relationships, but for the most part it just adds unnecessary pressure on the newly starting relationship.
4. Worrying too Much Over analyzing every second of your last date or everything she said will drive you crazy. You'll find yourself apologizing for things that didn't mean anything to her or constantly asking her if she's okay with everything. She will soon notice your obsessive nature and get creeped out by it.
5. Turning into a Detective More than men realize, they turn into detectives during dates. You turn what could have been a pleasant conversation into an interrogation. Asking too many questions leaves little room to discover things in the near future. Learning everything at one time can stale the relationship, not to mention the fact that all your questions can turn a woman off.
6. Running in too Fast Sealing the deal or becoming an exclusive item too fast is a mistake. Like numbers two and three, making yourselves exclusive to each other will lessen the excitement of being together.
7. Pretending it's Okay She does something that bugs you and you pretend it doesn't matter. This is a mistake. Open communication is always a good thing, and is a great way to start a relationship. If something annoys you, tell her so. That way you don't find that you've wasted your last six dates with someone you can't stand.
8. Not Having a Plan Always plan your dates, especially the first ten or so. It just kills a date to be sitting around wondering what you can do together. You'll get bored quickly and the possibility of a relationship can die.
9. Not Keeping Your Word It is a pet peeve of all women when a man says they will call them and then they don't. Even if you've been dating for a few weeks, always keep your word. Becoming unreliable is something no woman wants, and she will drop you like a hot potato.
10. Watching TV You had a good date and you agree to go back to your place. While it is understandable to a certain extent that whenever you get home you check what's on TV as part of habit, this is one of the worst things you can do on a date. Turning on the television and focusing on something other than talking to each other will kill the date. Don't make this mistake!
